  • Why is it important to tint the entire vehicle including the windshield / panoramic roof?
Tinting every window, including the windshield, with ceramic tint is crucial to maximizing its benefits and ensuring optimal performance. By applying it uniformly to all windows, including the windshield, regardless of the tint shade chosen, you create a comprehensive barrier against solar radiation and heat buildup, enhancing the overall comfort of your vehicle's interior. Without tinting the full car including windshield, you simply can not expect proper heat rejection as you are leaving big openings for heat to pour through! we often will use this analogy. Imagine your buying a top of the line Samsung refrigerator or in this case dual layer ceramic tint. You are buying the best because you want the best the industry has to offer. Now leave your new $4000 refrigerator open... or your windshield un-tinted, you have now have a problem with the product. The same can be said when it comes to only tinting the front half of your vehicle when it has been equipped from the factory with privacy glass. When it comes to factory privacy glass, it's important to note that its primary purpose is to provide a level of privacy by darkening the windows. However, this does not necessarily equate to UV protection or heat rejection. Factory privacy glass is often designed to meet aesthetic preferences rather than providing protection. In Summary, while we will never push or upsell clients into buying windshield tint... there is a reason as to why they are so highly recommended. Even a clear ceramic film on the windshield offers noticeably cooler internal temperatures! Interested in seeing what clear window tint looks like? Check out the shade comparison chart. (%70) Now what about panoramic roofs? They are found on just about every modern vehicle and EV... When given the choice between tint and protection film the answer isnt always clear. Here is the very brief run down... At the end of the day a unprotected panoramic roof can be nearly as detrimental as a un-tinted windshield... You are allowing a massive opening for heat and UV to pour in through. Window Tint is installed inside the vehicle. Ceramic Window Tint works by trapping the heat inside the window film itself. Since this film is installed inside the vehicle that means it is also trapping heat inside the glass, and ALOT of heat if we are talking about dual layer nano ceramic films such as what we exclusively work with. The problem is that you ultimately risk cracking your massive multi-thousand dollar panoramic roof. A quick google search will claim this is just a myth, but first hand experience over a decade says otherwise! These claims that your roof wont crack assumes there is no rapid temperature change such as a car wash on a 100+ degree day, and there are zero flaws inside your glass. While glass manufacturing has come a very long way over the decades imperfections still exist especially common on teslas. When high performing ceramic films are installed on roofs and windshields, there is a very labor intensive shrinking and installation process (roughly $200-$500) and you still ultimately run the risk of your roofs cracking depending on the exact vehicle model and conditions. Glass Protection Film AKA GPF on the other hand is installed on the outside of the vehicle hence "protection film". Our Glass Armour Ceramic Protection Film comes with roughly 60% IR Rejection similar to many ceramic films. This means your getting similar performance to many ceramic tint brands, however unlike window tint, this film is trapping heat on the surface of the glass. This eliminates the glass cracking problem as you are no longer trapping all that heat INSIDE of the glass, instead all the heat rejection is happening on the exterior of the glass itself. This is a simple solution that not only costs less than ceramic tint, with most GPF installations coming in around $150-$200, but also adds a whole new level of protection protecting your beautiful vehicle and investment!
  • What is Privacy Glass? Isn't my rear half already tinted?
^ "tHe ReAr HaLf Of My CaR iS aLrEaDy TiNtEd" is probably the most hated statement from any tint shop whether they admit it or not. All joking aside, our family here at Dublin Window Tint don't actually care or get annoyed by this question... its not your fault nobody explains this stuff! So lets take a second and explain the difference between Window Tint & OEM Privacy Glass Dual-layer ceramic window film and factory privacy glass serve completely different purposes in vehicles. Factory privacy glass is tinted glass that comes standard on many vehicles, particularly on rear windows, to provide privacy and a darker appearance. This is done through the inclusion of carbon particles in the glass window manufacturing process. It is primarily designed to obscure visibility into the vehicle without significant heat reduction or UV protection capabilities. Sooooooooo its just for looks... In contrast, dual-layer ceramic window film is an aftermarket marvel that transforms your driving experience with its cutting-edge technology and unmatched benefits. Unlike factory privacy glass, this advanced film is engineered with two layers of ceramic particles, which masterfully block infrared light and 99% of harmful UV rays. The result? A dramatic reduction in interior heat, turning your vehicle into a cool oasis even on the hottest days. Say goodbye to the sweltering sun and hello to enhanced comfort and safety. Beyond keeping the heat at bay, this film significantly reduces glare, ensuring crystal-clear visibility and a more comfortable drive. Plus, its protective qualities extend to your vehicle’s interior, preventing sun damage to your upholstery and dashboard. Dual-layer ceramic window film is not just a tint—it's a high-performance upgrade that elevates your vehicle’s comfort, protection, and style.
  • What is the difference between TSER & IR Rejection.
Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER) TSER measures how much of the total solar energy (including UV, visible light, and infrared) is blocked by a window tint. It's expressed as a percentage. The higher the TSER, the more effectively the tint prevents the sun's energy from entering the car, keeping it cooler overall. Infrared (IR) Rejection IR Rejection specifically measures how well the window tint blocks infrared radiation, which is the part of sunlight that carries heat. It's also expressed as a percentage. Higher IR Rejection means more heat is blocked, which helps keep the car cooler by targeting the main source of heat. In summary: TSER looks at the overall solar energy blocked (UV, visible light, and infrared). IR Rejection focuses specifically on blocking infrared heat. Both help keep your car cooler, but TSER gives a more comprehensive and accurate view at how much heat you really are blocking out, while IR Rejection zooms in on the heat aspect.
  • What is it like driving with windshield tint?
There is a short answer and a long answer! Short Answer - It is thee best decision you could possibly make for comfort and protection. Long Answer - Window tint shades on a windshield can significantly impact nighttime visibility based on their darkness levels. Lighter tint shades, such as those %70 or %50 , may reduce glare from headlights and streetlights, potentially enhancing visibility by minimizing the harshness of bright lights. Moderate shades such as %35 offer optimal glare reduction, and dramatically increase driver comfort with very minimal nighttime visibility loss. However, excessively dark tint can impede nighttime visibility by reducing the amount of light that enters the vehicle, making it challenging to distinguish objects, pedestrians, or potential hazards on the road. Striking the right balance is crucial; moderately tinted windows can provide a compromise between reducing glare and maintaining sufficient visibility during nighttime driving. NOTE THAT OUR IPHONE CAMERA SENSOR DOES NOT ABSORB AS MUCH LIGHT AS THE HUMAN EYE! THIS MEAN THE FOOTAGE IS DRAMATICALLY DARKER THAN REAL LIFE, HOWEVER THE POINT OF THIS VIDEO IS TO SHOWCASE HOW EVEN DARK WINDOW TINT IS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE WITH AT NIGHT.
  • How long does does it take to tint my car?
These are just estimates and vary for each vehicle. Pair of windows - 40 Minutes Windshield - 1HR Full Car - 2Hrs
  • Why does the front and rear half of my vehicle look different even with the same VLT %?
Differences Between Clear Glass and Factory Privacy Glass Clear Glass: Clear glass, often found on the front windows of a vehicle, is designed to provide maximum visibility. This glass is usually transparent with no tint or %70 applied at the factory. Its main purpose is to ensure that the driver and front passenger have a clear view of the road and surroundings, which is crucial for safety. - Visibility: Clear glass offers excellent visibility both during the day and at night. - UV Protection: While some clear glass may come with a basic UV coating, it doesn't provide significant protection from sunlight and heat compared to tinted glass. - Appearance: Clear glass often has a neutral look and does not alter the color of the view through the window, however in some vehicles it can have a "warmer" or "colder" look to them. For example Porsches, and Toyota's can have a warmer hue. Factory Privacy Glass: Factory privacy glass, typically found on the rear windows of a vehicle, is designed for privacy and style. This glass is tinted during the manufacturing process to reduce visibility from the outside, providing passengers with more privacy. - Privacy: The primary function of privacy glass is to obscure the view into the vehicle from the outside, making it harder for people to see inside. Color Hue Differences and Tint Matching Challenges One of the challenges with factory privacy glass is that it often has a different color hue compared to clear glass. This difference in hue can create a noticeable contrast when trying to match tint across the front and rear windows. For example lets say a client wanted to match their vehicles %20 privacy glass, and requested a %20 window film to be installed on the front pair. The front pair can match perfectly, or in some circumstances the front may look warmer than the rear. Ultimately it comes down to a per vehicle basis. Color Hue Differences: Factory privacy glass can have various color hues, such as brown, green, gray, or most commonly SLIGHTLY purplish/blue depending on the manufacturer. These hues are a result of the materials and processes used during the tinting of the glass at the factory. - Appearance: Even if the same film is used on both clear and privacy glass, the final appearance can differ. The film on the clear glass may look slightly different because it doesn’t have the same base hue as the privacy glass. - Uniformity: Achieving uniformity in appearance is challenging because the color of the privacy glass can affect how the tint film looks once applied. For instance, a ceramic window film on blue-hued privacy glass will look different from the same film on neutral clear glass. - Professional Expertise: Matching tint perfectly often requires professional expertise. Professionals can recommend the best film type and shade to use in order to minimize the visual differences and create a cohesive look. In summary, matching film isnt as easy as just comparing VLT %'s.
  • Do you file edges?
No. We will ONLY use cutting edge precut patterns from our extensive database. This ensures a perfect fit for your specific vehicle without ever having to touch the glass with a blade protecting your investment. With that being said no database is ever perfect and it is 100% normal to have a small gap, 0.5-1.5mm's from the edge of window. This tiny gap is known as a Micro-Edge (See photo attached below)
  • Why don't you offer carbon films or entry level ceramic?
At Dublin Window Tint, we exclusively use dual-layer ceramic tint because it represents the pinnacle of film technology. This advanced tint combines ceramic nanoparticles with a durable polyester layer, delivering unmatched heat rejection, UV protection, and glare reduction. The dual-layer construction ensures superior performance, making it the optimal choice for our team to provide our customers with the highest quality window tinting solutions available. Factor in the fact that we are able to offer this technology at record low pricing and there is a reason we chose to sell one product. With pricing so close to cheaper alternatives... why sacrifice!
  • How does Ceramic Window Tint keep my car cooler?
    - How Dual Layer Ceramic Window Tint Keeps Your Car Cooler 1. Heat Reduction: By blocking a significant portion of infrared radiation, dual layer ceramic window tint reduces the amount of heat that enters the vehicle. This leads to a cooler interior, especially during hot weather. The reduction in heat ingress means that the car's air conditioning system doesn't have to work as hard to maintain a comfortable temperature, resulting in increased energy efficiency and fuel savings. 2. Reflecting Solar Energy: The ceramic particles in the tint not only absorb but also reflect solar energy away from the vehicle. This dual action (absorption and reflection) is more effective than other types of tints that might only absorb or reflect heat. The reflection of solar energy back outside the vehicle minimizes the heat load on the car’s interior, this leads us into our next topic. 3. Reducing Heat Build-Up: The film acts as an insulator, reducing the rate at which heat builds up inside the car. This is particularly beneficial when the car is parked in direct sunlight. With less heat entering through the windows, the overall temperature inside the vehicle remains lower compared to a car without window tint or with a less effective tint. - Thermodynamics and Gradual Warming of the Car - 1. Principle of Thermodynamics: Thermodynamics is the branch of physics that deals with heat transfer and energy conversion. According to the second law of thermodynamics, heat naturally flows from a region of higher temperature to a region of lower temperature. In the context of a car, this means that heat from the hot exterior environment will gradually transfer to the cooler interior, even with window tint applied. - 2. Gradual Warming: While dual layer ceramic window tint significantly reduces the rate of heat transfer, it does not eliminate it entirely. Over time, the heat from the outside environment will penetrate the car through other means such as the roof, metal body panels, and even through the tinted windows to some extent. The car's interior will gradually warm up, especially if the car remains parked in the sun for extended periods. Even with a high performing film with 70% - 91% TSER, nature always wins! - 3. Equilibrium State: Eventually, the car's interior will reach a thermal equilibrium with the external environment if left in the sun for a long enough period. This means that the temperature inside the car will stabilize and match the outside temperature. However, the presence of the ceramic tint will delay this process, keeping the car cooler for a longer period compared to an untinted car. Tests have shown vehicle interiors to stay on average 10-15 Degrees cooler comapred to non-tinted vehicles. - 4. Mitigating Heat Build-Up: To further mitigate heat build-up, car owners can use additional measures such as sunshades for the windshield, parking in shaded areas, and using reflective covers for the car's body. These measures, combined with dual layer ceramic window tint, provide the most effective way to keep the car’s interior cool. - Conclusion Dual layer ceramic window tint works by utilizing advanced ceramic materials to block and reflect infrared and UV radiation, significantly reducing the heat that enters a vehicle. This results in a cooler interior, improved comfort, and protection for the car's occupants and interior materials. Despite its effectiveness, the principles of thermodynamics ensure that over time, heat will gradually infiltrate the car, leading to an eventual warming of the interior. Nonetheless, ceramic tint slows this process, offering a more comfortable, cooler, and energy-efficient driving experience.
  • How many days till these darn water bubbles go away!
When we apply window tint, we use a solution to help position the film correctly. This solution, usually a mix of water and soap, creates a barrier that allows us to adjust the tint before it adheres permanently to the glass. Once the film is in place, the water needs to evaporate for the tint to fully cure and adhere properly. How Water Evaporates from Window Tint: 1. Evaporation Process: Evaporation is the process by which water molecules transition from a liquid state to a gas state. This occurs when water molecules absorb enough energy to break free from the liquid surface and disperse into the air as vapor. 2. Heat and Airflow: Several factors influence the rate of evaporation, including temperature and airflow. Higher temperatures provide more energy for the water molecules, accelerating the evaporation process. Additionally, increased airflow helps carry away the water vapor, speeding up drying. 3. Time and Patience: Even in varying weather conditions, water will eventually evaporate. While we can’t control the weather, we can assure you that the process of curing, or drying, is inevitable. It's a matter of basic science – given time, water will always evaporate. Why We Can’t Control the Weather: Here at the shop, we strive to provide the best service possible. However, we must acknowledge that weather conditions are beyond our control. Factors such as humidity, temperature, and sunlight exposure can affect the drying time. Despite this, it’s important to note that these variables only influence the speed of the process, not the outcome. Guarantee of a Perfect Cure: Rest assured, in the history of window tinting, there has never been a tint job that didn’t eventually cure out. This is because the fundamental principles of evaporation and adhesion are consistent. Given enough time, all the water will evaporate, leaving your tint perfectly cured. This is basic science – an inevitable and reliable process. So, while we may ask for a bit of patience during different weather conditions, you can trust that your window tint will fully cure, resulting in a flawless finish every time.
  • Why is my vehicle not staying cooler with Ceramic Window Film?
It is very rare however, typically when we hear things such as "why isnt my car staying cooler", there are a few things we like to ask such as... "Did you tint the Full Car + Windshield?", "Do you have a panoramic roof and is it tinted?", and "What size is your vehicle? People often overlook the science behind ceramic window films and expect a magic solution to heat, then complain when their tesla or other large SUV isn't staying cooler when the massive panoramic roof, or windshield aren't tinted, allowing heat to pour into the cabin! Big SUVs tend to be warmer than small coupes when both are tinted with the same dual-layer ceramic window film. Firstly, despite the differences in cabin sizes, SUVs and sedans often share the same AC compressor and blower motor specifications, meaning the larger interior space of an SUV requires more effort to cool effectively. This results in less efficient cooling in SUVs compared to the more compact coupes. Additionally, SUVs often have more taller windows and sometimes moon roofs, which, despite the factory tinting, allow more sunlight and heat to penetrate into the vehicle. The larger surface area of windows in SUVs means more heat absorption, which the AC system struggles to counterbalance. Even with the pinnacle of heat rejection window films, the larger volume of air and increased glass surface area in an SUV contribute to it being warmer than a small coupe under similar conditions. MORAL OF THE STORY IS THE DIFFERENCE IS THERE! HOWEVER YOU MAY HAVE HAD UNREALISTIC EXPECTATION... Coupes and Sedans will of course experience the biggest difference, however even large SUV's will stay noticeably cooler when all windows are tinted! We dont preach to clients the importance of tinting all windows for the sake of profit... we do it so when you leave our shop, you do so noticeably cooler!
  • What are these weird bubbles after install?
Window Tint is a wet apply film meaning there will be a thin layer of water between your film and the glass for a few hours. After 30 minutes this water goes from being evenly spread out to bunching together into water pockets. These water pockets often thought to be bubbles are what some clients see upon pickup. ALL WATER WILL COMPLETELY EVAPORATE WITHIN THE 1 - 3 DAY AVG DRY OUT PERIOD.
  • Why are there water streaks on my vehicle... shouldn't you clean it up!?
Why We Don’t Wipe Up Water Marks... Recently we have had one unhappy customer who accused us of damaging his vehicle in numerous way. Scratching doors, swirls marks, and even a dent in the fender! After addressing and dismissing each claim with camera footage and explaining our tools and work methods, we came to an understanding and moved on with our day. However this taught us an important lesson on where some of our websites FAQ was slacking. So with that being said here is our down to earth logical reasoning on why we don't wipe up your vehicles paint. We prioritize both the quality of our tinting services and the care of your vehicle. Here are the key reasons we do not wipe up water marks after tinting: 1. Vehicle Condition: If you bring in a dirty car, you'll leave with a dirty car. If you bring in a freshly washed, clean car, you'll leave with a clean car. We maintain the condition of your vehicle as it arrives to ensure there are no discrepancies in cleanliness. Nothing is more irritating then dropping of your new car, freshly washed, and the dealership or service shop returns it with finger prints, oil smear, and drips down the side! So we will go above and beyond to make sure a vehicle leaves in the same condition if not better than how it arrived! 2. Avoiding Scratches and Swirls: When a car isn’t freshly washed or has been exposed to dust and particulates for a few days, wiping it down can lead to noticeable scratches and swirls in the paint. This rule is applied regardless of the vehicles paint color, however this is especially important for those with darker paint colors. By avoiding unnecessary wiping, we protect your vehicle’s paint from potential damage caused by dust and debris. 3. Car Wash Service: If you want your car to leave spotless and clean, we offer a flat rate $50 car wash fee. While we'd love to offer this service for free, it involves time... which costs money, materials... which cost money, and labor... which costs money that we can't provide without compensation. It’s simply not feasible to offer this service for free as it would be a bad business decision. To ensure your vehicle remains in the best condition: - Bring a Clean Car: By bringing us a clean car, you ensure it leaves just as clean, free from any water marks or additional dust. - Opt for Our Car Wash Service: If you prefer, you can opt for our car wash service, ensuring your vehicle leaves spotless and pristine. Thank you for understanding our policy. We are dedicated to providing excellent tinting services while also maintaining the integrity of your vehicle’s appearance. Bring us a clean car, and we’ll send you home with one!
  • New Cars vs. Old Cars. (Lets talk dirt)
As a vehicle ages, several factors contribute to the gradual deterioration of its components, including gaskets and glass surfaces. Gaskets, which are typically made of rubber or other flexible materials, are subjected to constant thermal cycling, exposure to various chemicals, and environmental elements. Over time, these factors cause the gaskets to harden, crack, and lose their sealing efficiency. This deterioration is a natural consequence of the material's breakdown due to heat, pressure, and exposure to oils, coolants, and other fluids. As a bonus factor, if the vehicle being tinted has felt in the gaskets... that felt will create even more micro dust particles which are near impossible to fully cover and stop from causing imperfections in your tint job. As a result of these cumulative effects, an older car, even after 3-4 years, will never achieve the same level of cleanliness and flawlessness as a new vehicle. So next time your 2018 accord has minor dust particles in the rear glass, just remember that no matter how much we try and how much experience we may have... we arent miracle workers. We treat all cars the exact same, glass is glass, however a newer well maintained car will almost always come out cleaner than a car that has been driven, enjoyed, taken on family trips, beach days, and taxi'd the kids to and from school in. At the end of the day its just a car, bring us whatever you may have, and we will do our absolute best to give you the gorgeous results you deserve!
  • What do you charge for removals?
When it comes to removals on pre-existing tint we make it super simple! If your car has quality window tint already installed then it typically takes around 10-15 minutes to remove the film on the full car! However if your film is old, discolored, bubbling, or on a window with defrosters it can take significantly longer.
  • How long does installation take?
Full Front End - 1 Day Standard Full Body - 3 Days Standard Depending on the make and model of your vehicle times can vary however most clients fall within the time frames stated above.
  • What is the warranty?
10 year warranty is standard on all PPF products provided from all manufactures! (Expected lifespan of 12-15yrs outdoors)
  • Seeing the edge of my film bothers me...
Whether you’re a first-time installer or a veteran with a decade of experience, there are some edges on a car that simply cannot be wrapped with paint protection film (PPF). This challenge is due to several factors. Firstly, the limitations of pattern software can prevent a perfect fit, as not all vehicle models are fully compatible with the pre-designed patterns. Additionally, some cars have body gaskets that are non-removable, making it impossible to wrap the film seamlessly around certain edges. The physical properties of the film itself also pose a challenge; in some cases, it cannot be wrapped tightly without peeling back, especially around complex curves and contours. Furthermore, areas where panels vibrate, such as the junctions between bumpers and fenders, add another layer of complexity. The constant movement in these areas can cause the film to lift or bubble over time. This issue is not unique to any particular type of vehicle. Even multi-million-dollar cars and custom, one-of-a-kind builds from renowned shops face these challenges. Despite the precision and expertise that go into these high-end projects, making a thick film appear as close to invisible as possible remains a common struggle. The inherent characteristics of the film and the intricate design of modern vehicles mean that achieving a perfect, seamless look is not always possible, no matter the skill level or resources involved. HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES! First, a $500,000 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, done in full body stealth satin PPF. Ignoring the surface dust, the job looked fantastic! However there were some noticeable seams... while they could be straighter, by no means was this a bad job! Secondly, a $5,000,000+ Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport. BY NO MEANS DID THEY DO A BAD JOB, however... when we saw this photo of their gas cap posted by a mutual friend, we had to screenshot and share the obvious edge in the photo cut around the Chiron badge. There simply is no way around it! What are you going to do? Pull off a multi thousand dollar badge? Risk damaging the carbon gas lid? Seams and edges are going to be on EVERY JOB. The real goal is how do we make it look as clean and unnoticeable as possible! People will always find a way to complain even with the obvious limitations. This is why we take our time to tell our clients, "Hey make sure you read the FAQ" as it allows us to share information in a organized way to show case our work, examples, and set expectations! Want to see our work? Check out our Gallery & PPF Videos. So remember that its called PAINT PROTECTION FILM not PAINT PERFECTION FILM. If you want your car to look perfect, polish it, ceramic coat it, and throw it in the corner of your garage to collect dust... and dont ever wipe it down because the day you do... it will have micro scratches and be imperfect again :)
  • The Premiere PPF Top Coat
Unfortunately, common sense often seems to be lacking in this day and age. Just like your vehicle's paint, your Paint Protection Film (PPF) can also be damaged. Even though paint protection film boasts a 10-year warranty, that doesn't mean it is bulletproof. Neglecting your investment can result in staining, water spots, and other damage. While some damage may be reversible, the primary goal is simple: protect your paint and make your life easier. This is why we choose Reload 2.0 as our go-to sealant. CarPro Reload 2.0 is widely regarded as one of the best top coats for Paint Protection Film (PPF) due to its comprehensive benefits, including enhanced UV protection, serving as a sacrificial layer, and significantly improved hydrophobic properties. Here's an in-depth explanation of why CarPro Reload 2.0 stands out as an exceptional top coat for PPF: - Shield Against UV Damage One of the primary functions of any top coat is to protect the underlying surface from UV radiation. UV rays can cause significant damage to both the paint and the PPF over time. They can lead to oxidation, fading, and degradation of the material. CarPro Reload 2.0 contains UV inhibitors that form a protective barrier, preventing these harmful rays from penetrating and causing damage. This prolongs the life of both the paint and the PPF, keeping them in pristine condition for a longer period. - Maintaining Aesthetic Appeal By blocking UV rays, CarPro Reload 2.0 helps maintain the color and clarity of the PPF. This is crucial for preserving the aesthetic appeal of the vehicle. Without adequate UV protection, the PPF can yellow and become hazy, diminishing the overall look of the car. Reload 2.0 ensures that the PPF retains its transparency and the paint underneath remains vibrant. Sacrificial Layer - Acting as the First Line of Defense CarPro Reload 2.0 serves as a sacrificial layer that takes the brunt of environmental contaminants, minor abrasions, and other forms of wear and tear, instead of the PPF. This means that the top coat absorbs the damage that would otherwise affect the PPF directly. Reload 2.0 is designed to be more easily replaceable than the PPF, providing a cost-effective solution to maintain the integrity of the paint protection system. - Easy Maintenance and Reapplication Reload 2.0 is formulated for easy application and reapplication. This means that as the top coat wears off, it can be reapplied without significant hassle. This continual renewal of the sacrificial layer ensures that the PPF remains protected over its lifespan, effectively extending the overall durability of the paint protection system. Enhanced Hydrophobic Properties - Superior Water Beading and Sheeting The hydrophobic properties of CarPro Reload 2.0 are among its most celebrated features. The top coat creates an exceptionally slick surface that repels water, causing it to bead up and roll off easily. This not only enhances the visual appeal by keeping the surface cleaner but also reduces water spots and potential etching caused by mineral deposits left behind when water evaporates. - Easier Cleaning and Maintenance A hydrophobic surface is significantly easier to clean. Dirt, grime, and other contaminants are less likely to adhere to the slick surface created by Reload 2.0. This makes routine washing quicker and more effective, reducing the need for aggressive cleaning methods that could potentially damage the PPF. The hydrophobic effect also means that the car stays cleaner for longer periods between washes. Additional Benefits - Enhanced Gloss and Shine CarPro Reload 2.0 is known for enhancing the gloss and shine of the paintwork. The top coat adds a deep, reflective quality to the surface, giving the vehicle a freshly detailed look. This enhanced appearance is particularly beneficial for car enthusiasts and owners who take pride in maintaining their vehicle’s aesthetic. - Chemical Resistance Reload 2.0 also offers resistance to various chemicals, including bird droppings, tree sap, and road salts. These substances can be highly corrosive and damaging to the PPF and paint. By providing an additional layer of protection, Reload 2.0 helps prevent these chemicals from causing permanent damage, preserving the vehicle's finish. Conclusion - CarPro Reload 2.0 stands out as the best top coat for Paint Protection Film due to its multifaceted benefits. It provides superior UV protection, serving as a sacrificial layer that preserves the PPF, and boasts exceptional hydrophobic properties that make maintenance easier and more effective. Additionally, its ability to enhance gloss, resist chemicals, and offer easy reapplication makes it an invaluable addition to any vehicle protection regimen. For anyone looking to maximize the longevity and appearance of their PPF, CarPro Reload 2.0 is an excellent choice.

  • Do I need to polish my vehicles paint before PPF installation?
No you do not in most applications. Check out our simple video below!
  • Its not magic, its an investment. Aftercare 101
When deciding how to write this I thought being as sarcastic as possible would be the best way to get my points across and explain what goes through our heads here at the shop! Unfortunately film brands, shops, and most installers don't take the time to set realistic expectations and aftercare for Paint Protection Films so here we go! It's truly astounding how some people manage to disregard basic care instructions for their vehicles. You'd think a 10-year warranty on Paint Protection Film (PPF) means it's completely indestructible, right? Apparently not. In reality, your PPF can be damaged just like your car's paint—who would've guessed? Some folks seem to believe that once they slap on the PPF, they can just sit back and watch the magic happen, ignoring regular maintenance altogether. Then they wonder why they're dealing with staining, water spots, and various other delightful issues well before that magical 10-year mark. Shocking, really. You see, it's almost as if the manufacturers expected a little bit of effort on your part to keep the PPF in good shape. Neglecting your investment? Well, that’s a surefire way to ensure it falls short of its potential lifespan. But hey, why use common sense when you can just blame the product instead? At the end of the day, protecting your paint and making your life easier doesn’t seem to be everyone’s top priority. That's why we stick with Reload 2.0—it’s our way of giving your PPF a fighting chance against, well, you. Paint Protection Film (PPF) Care Instructions To ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your Paint Protection Film (PPF), please follow these care instructions: 1. **Regular Washing**: - Wash your vehicle regularly using a pH-neutral car wash soap and a soft microfiber wash mitt. - Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a microfiber towel to prevent water spots. 2. **Avoid Harsh Chemicals**: - Do not use abrasive cleaners, polishes, or waxes on the PPF. - Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on the film edges to prevent lifting. 3. **Bird Droppings, Bugs, and Tree Sap**: - Remove bird droppings, bug splatters, and tree sap as soon as possible. These substances are highly acidic and can cause etching and staining if left on the film. ( To avoid issues use CarPro Reload 2.0) - Use a gentle automotive cleaner and a soft cloth to clean these contaminants. 4. **Water Spots**: - Dry the vehicle thoroughly after washing to prevent water spots. - If water spots occur, use a water spot remover specifically designed for use on PPF. 5. **Staining and Contaminants**: - Regularly inspect your PPF for contaminants like tar, oil, or road grime. - Use a PPF-safe cleaner to remove any stubborn stains. 6. **Avoid Direct Sunlight During Cleaning**: - When washing or detailing your vehicle, avoid direct sunlight. Cleaning in the shade or during cooler parts of the day helps prevent water spots and streaks. 7. **Wax and Sealants**: - Use inorganic waxes and sealants that are safe for PPF. Avoid products with dyes, harsh chemicals, or abrasives. - Consider using a top coat like CarPro Reload 2.0 to enhance UV protection and hydrophobic properties. By following these care instructions, you can help ensure that your Paint Protection Film provides maximum protection and maintains its appearance for years to come!
  • You cant Ceramic Coat PPF... Here is why...
Why True Ceramic Coatings Won't Last and Stick to Paint Protection Film (PPF) True ceramic coatings are celebrated for their durability and hard, glass-like protective layer they provide on car paint. However, when it comes to applying these coatings over Paint Protection Film (PPF), there are several significant challenges that compromise their effectiveness and longevity. 1. Incompatibility with Flexibility Ceramic Coatings: - Ceramic coatings form a hard, rigid shell that adheres well to the firm, stable surface of automotive paint. PPF, however, is inherently flexible and designed to absorb minor impacts and scratches. This flexibility allows the PPF to protect the underlying paint from damage. - A hard, inflexible ceramic coating cannot move and flex with the PPF. Over a short time, this mismatch leads to mciro-cracking and separation of the ceramic layer as the PPF flexes and shifts during normal driving conditions. 2. Adhesion Issues Ceramic Coatings: - Ceramic coatings require a perfectly clean, solid surface to adhere to properly. The surface properties of PPF can inhibit the proper bonding of ceramic coatings, leading to poor adhesion and reduced effectiveness. - Since PPF is designed to be a sacrificial, replaceable layer, the bond between a ceramic coating and PPF is often weak, resulting in fading performance for the coating. The Benefits of SiO2 Ceramic Sealants like CarPro Reload 2.0 In contrast to true ceramic coatings, SiO2-based ceramic sealants like CarPro Reload 2.0 offer a more suitable and effective solution for protecting PPF. Here’s why: 1. Compatibility with Flexibility SiO2 Ceramic Sealants: - SiO2 ceramic sealants, such as Reload 2.0, provide a flexible, yet durable layer of protection that can move and flex with the PPF. This compatibility ensures that the sealant remains intact and effective even as the PPF absorbs impacts and conforms to the vehicle’s surface. - The flexibility of SiO2 ceramic sealants helps maintain the integrity of both the sealant and the PPF, preventing the cracking and separation issues associated with ceramic coatings. 2. Superior Adhesion SiO2 Ceramic Sealants: - SiO2 sealants are specifically formulated to bond well with the surface properties of PPF. This strong adhesion ensures that the protective layer remains intact and effective, providing a reliable shield against environmental contaminants, UV rays, and other potential damage. - The ease of application and strong bonding characteristics make SiO2 ceramic sealants a practical choice for maintaining the look and performance of PPF. 3. Enhanced Longevity and Ease of Maintenance SiO2 Ceramic Sealants: - SiO2 ceramic sealants like Reload 2.0 offer long-lasting protection with less frequent need for reapplication. Their hydrophobic properties repel water and dirt, making the vehicle easier to clean and reducing the accumulation of contaminants on the PPF. - Unlike true ceramic coatings, SiO2 ceramic sealants are user-friendly and can be applied without professional assistance. This ease of use, combined with their durability, makes them a cost-effective and practical solution for vehicle owners. Conclusion True ceramic coatings, while excellent for automotive paint, are not suitable for application over PPF due to their rigidity and adhesion issues. SiO2 ceramic sealants, such as CarPro Reload 2.0, provide a flexible, durable, and easy-to-apply alternative that maintains the protective qualities of PPF. By choosing SiO2 ceramic sealants, vehicle owners can enjoy enhanced protection, longevity, and ease of maintenance without the drawbacks associated with true ceramic coatings.
  • Why is it important to tint the entire vehicle including the windshield / panoramic roof?
This is a duplicate question also found under the "Window Tint" category. What makes this one different is this reminder... "YOUR VEHICLES ENTIRE TOP HALF IF LITERALLY MADE OF GLASS!" Tinting every window, including the windshield, with ceramic tint is crucial to maximizing its benefits and ensuring optimal performance.
  • What is a Half Glass or Full Glass?
When deciding between half glass and full glass window tint for the rear window of a Tesla Model 3, it's essential to consider the purpose and impact of each option. Half glass window tint refers to tinting only the lower portion of the rear window, while leaving the upper section untinted. This allows for a more cost effective installation blocking out the heat where needed. On the other hand, full glass window tint covers the entire rear window, providing enhanced privacy by blocking more light and marginally more heat from entering the cabin. However, it may slightly reduce the clarity of the view through the upper portion. The choice between half glass and full glass window tint for the Tesla Model 3 rear window depends on personal preferences regarding visibility and privacy. If clients choose a half glass, then regret their decision and want to have it removed or replaced with a Full One Piece Rear Glass, the removal process can potentially damage tesla defrosters. While the chance is low, tesla glass is infamous for being low quality, so make the choice once and stick with it. (HALF GLASS BELOW) (FULL ONE PIECE GLASS BELOW)
  • Why does it cost so much more for one piece rear glass on model 3's?
Due to a few factors the price for one piece rears is $200 over your standard full car or $275 as a standalone single panel of glass. Model 3 rear glasses require a specialty 60" roll. Extremely curvy glass, leading to dramatically increased difficulty to shrink and install. Difficulty to install, with the massive single piece of tint even installers with years of experience still struggle. To understand what we mean please watch our model X one piece windshield video found above this FAQ, these two different panels of glass have very similar installation methods due to their large size.

  • Why dont you remove tesla cameras? Other shops said they do...
Here is the simplest answer possible. Due to the way tesla poorly designed the camera housing... Removing these cameras has always entailed some level of risk as you must apply a great deal of pressure to get some less than well thought out clips removed. While we have removed hundreds over the years trouble free, there are plenty of shops who often break these cameras, clips, wires, etc. The reason we no longer remove these cameras is : 1. Clips can break due to poor material quality, leading to the risk of poor aesthetics upon reinstallation. 2. You almost always bend the fender to some extent once again due to poor clip engineering on behalf of tesla, this also can lead to cameras having the look of "bulging" or "Not being pushed all the way in". 3. (UPDATE 1/17/23) A couple months back, tesla updated their terms and conditions which now void all warranty with cameras and some safety features for modifying and removing the camera, so there is a MAJOR REASON why not to touch tesla cameras.) After working with these cars for years and hundreds of hours, we at Dublin Window Tint finally said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! We currently have a amazing fitting fender precut template which get altered and constantly improved to offer the most seamless installation possible! ADDITIONAL NOTE (THE PHOTO ATTACHED TO THIS POST SHOWS A SMALL 1/4" GAP AT THE TAIL END OF A CAMERA. THIS IS THE OLD TEMPLATE AND NOW HAS BEEN IMPROVED UPON! NEW PHOTO WILL BE UPDATED SOON.)
  • Why is the Cyber Truck Windshield So Expensive?
Window tinting a Tesla CyberTruck, similar to the model x front windshield presents a daunting challenge due to several intricate factors unique to the vehicle's design and advanced technology. The windshield is not just a protective barrier; it plays a pivotal role in the car's structural integrity and houses numerous cutting-edge sensors and cameras that enable its Autopilot and driver-assistance functionalities. Applying tint without compromising the efficiency of these sensors requires absolute precision and expertise, involving meticulous calibration and integration. Moreover, the use of premium, dual layer nano-ceramic tinting films is necessary to maintain the optimal heat and UV rejection properties expected from a luxury electric vehicle. Considering the intricate work, custom materials, and specialized knowledge involved, it's no surprise that window tinting for a Tesla Cyber Truck front windshield commands a significant price tag starting at $300 and above. Ultimately, this investment ensures the preservation of the vehicle's performance, aesthetics, and safety features, making it a worthwhile and indispensable consideration for every Tesla owner.
  • Why Do Cyber Truck Windshields Have A Seam?
Its just too big. The largest size of window tint roll we have on the global market is 60". The Cyber Truck windshield is roughly 62.5" wide. See how that math doesn't work out... so there has to be a seam somewhere. Instead of doing what many shops do, which is hand cutting a brow strip by hand which can be wavy and uneven... we instead opted for the more technologically advanced option of making a custom template design for thee best fitment every time! The "brow" section is roughly 2" tall and is completely hidden when the visors are in their locked position. This is by far the best way and only way to tint a Cyber Truck windshield!
  • Window Tint Aftercare
Wait for the curing period: Avoid rolling down your windows for at least 48 hours or until all water pockets have evaporated from your tint. This allows the adhesive to dry and bond properly. Water pockets will be noticeable on every tinted window and shall slowly disappear naturally over the next few days. Some cars will cure out in a few hours, some will take a few days, some 1-2 weeks. Ultimately it depends on the weather, however one thing is guaranteed, and that is the water bubbles will go away! PLEASE SEE PHOTO BELOW FOR EXAMPLE OF WATER POCKETS AS SEEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. Be gentle: During the first week after installation, handle your windows with care. Avoid slamming doors or placing excessive pressure on the tinted windows, as it may cause damage. Avoid cleaning immediately: Wait at least one week before cleaning the tinted windows. This gives the tint time to settle and ensures that the cleaning process won't affect the adhesive. Use a gentle cleaning solution: When it's time to clean your tinted windows, use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for automotive windows. Avoid ammonia-based cleaners as they can damage the tint. Soft materials only: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a microfiber towel to clean the tinted surface. Avoid using rough or abrasive materials that could scratch the tint. Avoid sharp objects: Be mindful of objects with sharp edges near your windows. Avoid using sharp tools or objects that could scratch or puncture the tinted film. (EXAMPLE... SEAT BELT BUCKLES OR LAPTOPS) Keep away from adhesive materials: Avoid using any adhesive stickers, decals, or tape on the tinted windows. These materials can damage the tint and are challenging to remove without causing harm. Any specific questions never hesitate to reach out! OUTSIDE VIEW INSIDE VIEW
  • Paint Protection Film Aftercare
Give it time to settle: Allow the paint protection film to cure and bond properly by avoiding washing or disturbing it for the first 5 days after installation. This helps ensure its effectiveness and longevity. Gentle cleaning: When it's time to clean your vehicle, use a gentle cleaning solution specifically designed for paint protection film or automotive surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or rough materials that can scratch or damage the film. Soft materials only: Use a soft microfiber cloth or sponge to clean the paint protection film. Avoid using brushes, abrasive pads, or towels with a rough texture that could potentially harm the film. Regular washing: Wash your vehicle regularly to remove dirt, debris, and contaminants that can accumulate on the film's surface. Regular cleaning helps maintain its appearance and protective qualities. Avoid high-pressure washes: When using automated car washes or pressure washers, ensure that they are specifically designed for use on vehicles with paint protection film. Avoid using high-pressure settings or getting too close to the film, as it may cause the film to lift or peel. Mindful drying: After washing, use a clean microfiber cloth or a soft rubber squeegee to gently dry the paint protection film. Avoid using rough or abrasive materials that could scratch the film's surface. Waxing and polishing: Paint protection film generally does not require additional waxing or polishing. However, if you choose to apply wax or polish to the rest of the vehicle, avoid getting these products on the film itself, as it may affect its appearance or adhesion. Avoid petroleum-based products: Refrain from using any petroleum-based cleaners, solvents, or products on the paint protection film. These substances can potentially cause damage or discoloration. Be cautious with chemicals: If your vehicle comes into contact with any chemicals or substances such as gasoline, oil, or harsh solvents, rinse the affected area with water as soon as possible. Promptly removing such substances helps minimize the risk of damage to the film. Regular inspections: Periodically inspect the paint protection film for any signs of damage, peeling, or lifting. If you notice any issues, consult a professional installer or specialist to assess the condition and recommend appropriate action. Remember, these guidelines provide general recommendations for paint protection film aftercare. If you received specific instructions from the film installer or manufacturer, always follow their guidelines as they may have variations based on the specific product used.
